Meet the Team

  • Ms. Sarah

Sarah has always loved working with children because they bring so much joy, excitement, humour, and positivity into each day. She has worked in child care, with children with special needs both as a Behavioural Interventionist/Lead Therapist and for the Burnaby School District as an Educational Assistant. Sarah completed her undergraduate to become a Kindergarten Teacher. However, paths led her to become an Early Childhood Educator instead. She wants to teach children in order to be ready for Kindergarten. Sarah wants to do this by teaching, inspiring and encouraging children to ask questions, to seek answers and engage in every avenue of play with delight. Sarah wants to create a learning environment for her children that encompasses compassion, inclusion, wonder and joy. Sarah believes the following quote: "Every child is a different flower, all together they make this world a beautiful garden." ~ unknown

  • Mr. Ash

Ashleigh is delighted in helping to create an optimal learning space for Teddy Bear Picnic. He saw the space, and envisioned what it could become. As Ashleigh began to help decorate the space, he found himself excited to work with children. So, he went and studied for his Early Childhood Assistant Certificate. Ashleigh enjoys getting down and playing with children because of the stories they tell and the imagination they use. He loves when children laugh because it shows their joy and excitement of the world. Ashleigh likes the Chinese Proverb, ‘If you are planning for a year, sow rice. If you are planning for a decade, plant trees. If you are planning for a lifetime, educate people [our future, the children.]’ Instead of educating people he feels educating children is how we set up our world for future success.
